In this immersive 3-day workshop, you’ll explore a unique alternative photographic printing technique that uses oil paint to create photographic prints - using a single colour.
All necessary chemicals, 10 sheets (11 x 14 inches) sheets of paper (including test prints), and access to a fully equipped studio shall be provided.
Note: The digital positive transparency is not included and must be arranged externally with assistance from Studio A89.

About the Workshop
​
In this hands-on 3-day workshop, participants will explore Gum Oil Printing, an alternative photographic process combining gum bichromate techniques with oil-based pigments. This method, which emerged in the early 20th century, yields rich, textural prints and emphasizes hand manipulation, allowing for a high degree of artistic control and uniqueness.

Additional Notes

Personal oil color tubes, if preferred, especially specific shades they wish to use. While basic shades of oil colours will be provided, personal favorite shades or brands are welcome to enhance creative expression.

Digital positive transparencies are not included and must be arranged externally. Studio A89 will help coordinate the process if needed.
